~A Better Ministry
[HEB 8:1-5]  Now of the
things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest,
who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord
pitched, and not man. For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts
and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat
also to offer. For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing
that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law: Who serve
unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished
of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that
thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
[HEB 4:14-16]  Seeing then
that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus
the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high
priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but
was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore
come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find
grace to help in time of need.
[HEB 9:11-28]  But Christ
being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more
perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered
in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.
For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling
the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall
the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without
spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living
God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by
means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under
the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of
eternal inheritance. For where a testament is, there must also of necessity
be the death of the testator. For a testament is of force after men are
dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
Whereupon neither the first testament was dedicated without blood. For
when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the
law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet
wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people, Saying,
This is the blood of the testament which God hath enjoined unto you. moreover
he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the
ministry. And almost all things are by the law purged with blood and without
shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the
patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these but the
heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. For Christ
is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures
of the true but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God
for us: Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest
entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others For then
must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now
once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice
of himself. And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this
the judgment: So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many and
unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin
unto salvation.
~A New and Living Way
[HEB 10:19-21]  Having
therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of
Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through
the veil, that is to say, his flesh And having an high priest over the
house of God Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith,
having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed
with pure water.
[HEB 1:3]  Who being the
brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding
all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our
sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:
[HEB 2:16-17]  For verily
he took not on him the nature of angels but he took on him the seed of
Abraham. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his
brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things
pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.
~The Ancient of Days Reigns
[DAN 7:9-12]  I beheld
till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose
garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool:
his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. A
fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands
ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him:
the judgment was set, and the books were opened. I beheld then because
of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till
the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away:
yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
~The Son of Man Presented
[DAN 7:13-14]  I saw in
the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds
of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before
him. And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all
people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting
dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not
be destroyed.
~The Vision Interpreted
[DAN 7:15-27]  I Daniel
was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my
head troubled me. I came near unto one of them that stood by, and asked
him the truth of all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation
of the things. These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which
shall arise out of the earth. But the saints of the most High shall take
the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from
all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails
of brass which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with
his feet And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other
which came up, and before whom three fell even of that horn that had eyes,
and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than
his fellows. I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and
prevailed against them Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was
given to the saints of the most High and the time came that the saints
possessed the kingdom. Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth
kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall
devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and
another shall rise after them and he shall be diverse from the first,
and he shall subdue three kings. And he shall speak great words against
the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think
to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a
time and times and the dividing of time. But the judgment shall sit, and
they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the
end. And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under
the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most
High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall
serve and obey him.
[DAN 8:13-14]  Then I heard
one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which
spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and
the transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host
to be trodden under foot? And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three
hundred days then shall the sanctuary be cleansed.
~Seventy Weeks and the Messiah
[DAN 9:24-27]  Seventy
weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish
the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation
for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up
the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and
understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and
to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and
threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall,
even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah
be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall
come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary and the end thereof shall
be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst
of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and
for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until
the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
[NUM 14:34]  After the number
of the days in which ye searched the land, even forty days, each day for
a year, shall ye bear your iniquities, even forty years, and ye shall know
my breach of promise.
[EZE 4:6]  And when thou
hast accomplished them, lie again on thy right side, and thou shalt bear
the iniquity of the house of Judah forty days: I have appointed thee each
day for a year.
~Law of Atonement
[LEV 16:1-28]  And the
LORD spake unto Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they
offered before the LORD, and died And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak
unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place
within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark that he die
not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat. Thus shall Aaron
come into the holy place: with a young bullock for a sin offering, and
a ram for a burnt offering. He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he
shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with
a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these are
holy garments therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and so put them
on. And he shall take of the congregation of the children of Israel two
kids of the goats for a sin offering, and one ram for a burnt offering.
And Aaron shall offer his bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself,
and make an atonement for himself, and for his house. And he shall take
the two goats, and present them before the LORD at the door of the tabernacle
of the congregation. And Aaron shall cast lots upon the two goats one
lot for the LORD, and the other lot for the scapegoat. And Aaron shall
bring the goat upon which the LORD'S lot fell, and offer him for a sin
offering. But the goat, on which the lot fell to be the scapegoat, shall
be presented alive before the LORD, to make an atonement with him, and
to let him go for a scapegoat into the wilderness. And Aaron shall bring
the bullock of the sin offering, which is for himself, and shall make an
atonement for himself, and for his house, and shall kill the bullock of
the sin offering which is for himself: And he shall take a censer full
of burning coals of fire from off the altar before the LORD, and his hands
full of sweet incense beaten small, and bring it within the vail: And he
shall put the incense upon the fire before the LORD, that the cloud of
the incense may cover the mercy seat that is upon the testimony, that he
die not: And he shall take of the blood of the bullock, and sprinkle it
with his finger upon the mercy seat eastward and before the mercy seat
shall he sprinkle of the blood with his finger seven times. Then shall
he kill the goat of the sin offering, that is for the people, and bring
his blood within the vail, and do with that blood as he did with the blood
of the bullock, and sprinkle it upon the mercy seat, and before the mercy
seat: And he shall make an atonement for the holy place, because of the
uncleanness of the children of Israel, and because of their transgressions
in all their sins: and so shall he do for the tabernacle of the congregation,
that remaineth among them in the midst of their uncleanness. And there
shall be no man in the tabernacle of the congregation when he goeth in
to make an atonement in the holy place, until he come out, and have made
an atonement for himself, and for his household, and for all the congregation
of Israel. And he shall go out unto the altar that is before the LORD,
and make an atonement for it and shall take of the blood of the bullock,
and of the blood of the goat, and put it upon the horns of the altar round
about. And he shall sprinkle of the blood upon it with his finger seven
times, and cleanse it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children
of Israel. And when he hath made an end of reconciling the holy place,
and the tabernacle of the congregation, and the altar, he shall bring the
live goat: And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live
goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel,
and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head
of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the
wilderness: And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto
a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness. And
Aaron shall come into the tabernacle of the congregation, and shall put
off the linen garments, which he put on when he went into the holy place,
and shall leave them there: And he shall wash his flesh with water in the
holy place, and put on his garments, and come forth, and offer his burnt
offering, and the burnt offering of the people, and make an atonement for
himself, and for the people. And the fat of the sin offering shall he burn
upon the altar. And he that let go the goat for the scapegoat shall wash
his clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward come into the
camp. And the bullock for the sin offering, and the goat for the sin offering,
whose blood was brought in to make atonement in the holy place, shall one
carry forth without the camp and they shall burn in the fire their skins,
and their flesh, and their dung. And he that burneth them shall wash his
clothes, and bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into
the camp.
~An Annual Atonement
[LEV 16:29-34]  And this
shall be a statute for ever unto you: that in the seventh month, on the
tenth day of the month, ye shall afflict your souls, and do no work at
all, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger that sojourneth
among you: For on that day shall the priest make an atonement for you,
to cleanse you, that ye may be clean from all your sins before the LORD.
It shall be a sabbath of rest unto you, and ye shall afflict your souls,
by a statute for ever. And the priest, whom he shall anoint, and whom he
shall consecrate to minister in the priest's office in his father's stead,
shall make the atonement, and shall put on the linen clothes, even the
holy garments: And he shall make an atonement for the holy sanctuary, and
he shall make an atonement for the tabernacle of the congregation, and
for the altar, and he shall make an atonement for the priests, and for
all the people of the congregation. And this shall be an everlasting statute
unto you, to make an atonement for the children of Israel for all their
sins once a year. And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
~Vision of the Angel with the
Gospel
[REV 14:6-7]  And I saw
another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel
to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred,
and tongue, and people,  Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give
glory to him for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that
made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
[REV 20:12]  And I saw the
dead, small and great, stand before God and the books were opened: and
another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged
out of those things which were written in the books, according to their
works.
[REV 14:12]  Here is the
patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God,
and the faith of Jesus.
[REV 22:12]  And, behold,
I come quickly and my reward is with me, to give every man according as
his work shall be. |
