25. Death and Resurrection:  The wages of sin is death. But God, who alone is immortal, will grant eternal life to His redeemed. Until that day death is an unconscious state for all people. When Christ, who is our life, appears, the resurrected righteous and the living righteous will be glorified and caught up to meet their Lord. The second resurrection, the resurrection of the unrighteous, will take place a thousand years later.

(Rom. 6:23 1 Tim. 6:15, 16 Eccl. 9:5, 6 Ps. 146:3, 4 John 11:11-14 Col. 3:4 1 Cor. 15:51-54 1 Thess. 4:13-17 John 5:28, 29 Rev. 20:1-10.)

[ROM 6:23]  For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

[1 TI 6:15-16]  Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

[ECC 9:5-6]  For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished neither have they any more a portion for ever in any thing that is done under the sun.

[PSA 146:3-4]  Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth in that very day his thoughts perish.

[JOH 11:11-14]  These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead

[COL 3:4]  When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

[1 CO 15:51-52]  Behold, I shew you a mystery We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

~Those Who Died in Christ
[1 TH 4:13-17]  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

[JOH 5:28-29]  Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, And shall come forth they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

~Satan Bound
[REV 20:1-6]  And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

~Satan Freed, Doomed
[REV 20:7-10]  And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog, and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
