15. The Lord's Supper:The
Lord's Supper is a participation in the emblems of the body and blood of
Jesus as an expression of faith in Him, our Lord and Saviour. In this experience
of communion Christ is present to meet and strengthen His people. As we
partake, we joyfully proclaim the Lord's death until He comes again. Preparation
for the Supper includes self-examination, repentance, and confession. The
Master ordained the service of foot washing to signify renewed cleansing,
to express a willingness to serve one another in Christ like humility,
and to unite our hearts in love. The communion service is open to all believing
Christians.

[1 CO 10:16-17]  The cup of blessing which we
bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which
we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many
are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
~The Lord's Supper
[MAT 26:17-19]  Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover? And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples. And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them and they made ready the passover. ~The Last Passover

[JOH 6:48-58]  I am that bread of life. Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. ~Words to the Disciples
[JOH 13:1-4]  Now before the feast of the passover, when Jesus knew that his hour was come that he should depart out of this world unto the Father, having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end. And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, to betray him Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he was come from God, and went to God He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments and took a towel, and girded himself. ~Jesus Washes the Disciples' Feet
